Oooh how exciting!!! Another Lab? enjoy your sleep while you still can!!!!!!
Bedazzled anytime you want pics of him let me know and I can bring my camera over and take some for you, its good practice for me !!

I have been a bad bad girl, I put my name down for some pups that will be born mid year. :) Was going to get an older rescue dog but my last 2 dogs were so difficult I decided to have 2 that I raise from small and hopefully the new addition will be as special as mason, although I doubt he will be as perfect ( although allergy wise he better be perfect :) ).

Yes a little yellow pup. So lots of work for me to do as I want Mason up and running in the trial ring before New Addition comes home. I will bring Brookies ball on friday night for you.

:D If I was in the position, I'd love one of the pups from this mating, too :D

I was a naughty girl and got Millie before Ruby hit the ring :D Now Millie is set to overtake Ruby in the ring :) Ruby just might be a little bit "spethal".

I think a few more months than Mas will be ready to compete and I will start with addition when/ if he comes home because I would like him to compete too. Think I am going to call him addition, cool name!

Woo Hoo, another puppy :) I know what you mean about rescues - I love my two to bits, but there are days that I wished they weren't quite so f**ked up by their past :o It would be great to have a 'normal' dog to go to the beach with :o

Yeah I could not take miss Gabby anwhere where other dogs were as she was fear aggressive I think, if anything scared her she would react in fear and she is such a wuss she was scared of everything! In afrikaans we have a word bang broek it means scaredy pants directly translated and it fits her perfectly!

Bear sharing Buster's bed  Buster looks grumpy because I told him to stop licking his willy so I could take the photo :)

What a mean Mum you are!

1) Why doesn't Bear have his own bed?? :o

2) How can you ruin your poor dogs "fun" just to take a photo?

Results are in- Bon has a fused lumbar vertabrae (which is probably congenital, which explains why she has always had that roach back). The "wings" on the thoracic (sp) vertabrae above the fused vertabrae are out of wack and touching- pinch...ing on nerves (which is why she is sore in front legs and neck) . Vet said to continue painkillers (previcox) whenever she is sore, and also said seeing a chiropractor may help (although vet couldn't release the xrays, so I'm going to have to explain Bondi's condition to any chiropractors she sees).

The xrays were amazing to see- I can't believe my girl has had this her whole life and still managed to run and jump and move like normal, when her spine is fused. She is amazing ♥

All in all the vet said good news- and we just need to keep up painkillers and take care of any pinched nerves

Good to see you now know and it explains why she was in so much pain.

My young Dobe had spondlyosis of 5 verterbrae in her back and her first two symptoms were an unwillingness to jump and limping on her left front leg. Also she would jump one direction better than the other. Acupuncture regularly helped her.

That's the word the vet used I think! (spondlyosis)

Will look into accupunture. Did it affect her much/get worse?

I was told not to jump her or let her do maddies at the beach, but other than that she was fine. I always made sure she had a very warm coat or two on when it was cold and she had her hottie every night. She died from Dilated CArdio Myopathy at 8 and a half years, but up until that point and after her intial course of tablets she was fine. HAd she lived longer I think she may have required pain killers, but when she died she didn't have any, ran and played (up until her heart had a wobbly) and had 5 kms walks and was all good.

Sorry to hear about Bondi! I would never believe it from her! I have never seen a dog bounce spreads so naturally. I hope now you know what it is it will be easier to help her :D

Boxagirl, the vet not releasing the xrays for the chiropracter is strange - mine not only released them, but copied them onto a disk so the chiro could keep a copy!

I would be querying that decision on the basis that your dog needs good care, and for that, the chiro needs those xrays. Bon's case is not straight forward! Its the same with human care, if your next care provider needs the test results, your current one passes along a copy!!

Why did the vet say they could not release the xrays? AFter all, you paid for them.

At least you now know what is going on, though.

Thanks for that Ososwift. I'm not letting her jump, and have told everyone she isn't allowed to do zoomies (although its hard to tell Bon that sometimes!)

At the moment vet only said to give painkillers when necassary.

I would never have believed it either- now I know why her spine has shown all her life! I thought she was just thin!

They said they need to keep them on record for 7 years. I'm going back to pay the bill wednesday so might ask if they can forward a copy to the chiropractor or make a copy for me.
