Ptolomy
From what I can work out Friday night doesn't appear to be a very big show. My kids are in group 3 and there number is 158 - my friend with the flatcoat is number 134 - which means not many labs and goldies and certainly not many in groups 1 and 2 by the looks. I may be very wrong though but we may be home before 9 :D
Tiggy
I took the vet bed out of Bear's crate because I thought it might be too hot but I think it'll have to go back in because first he was under his bed then inside his bed cover like a sleeping bag . http://www.youtube.com/user/Tiggy3010?feature=mhum

Tiggy
I felt so :p when I was leaving work this morning I could see a little dog had come inside the glass shop doors then this guy picks it up by the scruff and takes it outside so I follow him out and it was a pup maybe 7 weeks old, skinny, wormy looking, he had the mum to she was in awful condition, off he walks across the car park with no leads on the dogs, I'm guessing he sold the other pups for christmas presents . I can't believe theirs such idiots in the world .

fetchindawgs
I don't know why 2010 has been such an awful year for me. Must have done something terrible in a past life I think. On top of everthing that has happened in the last six months, last week I had my horse PTS after he was bitten by a snake. Juana was a very healthy 32 year old Appy, and I don't know how, when or whereabouts on his body he was bitten but it paralysed his hind quarters. The poor lad wanted to stand up but his legs just wouldn't work. My neighbour and I worked on him for over two hours in trying to stimulate his muscles but eventually I could see he wasn't any better and called the Vet in to put him down. I had Juana for over 31 years, getting him as a ten month old colt and showed him in hand and under saddle. His progeny were beautiful appys too. He was a character, and, about the most comfortable ride I have ever had. True rocking horse! Juana's best friend, Jimmy (a TB/QH cross) is 33 yrs old and would have been lost without his mate, so he was moved to my neighbours paddocks to be near her horses. He has settled in well and is in a paddock with ewes and lambs. I am debating on buying a pony for company for Jim, and moving both of them back to their 50 acre paddock. Will think about that in the new year. I sure hope 2011 is good to me, I sure as hell need it.

Lab_Rat
Happy Belated Christmas everyone........After working the last four days I am now on my days off - Yay!!!! We had a quiet but nice Christmas, just the way I like it Sorry fetchingdawgs you had to lose your beautiful Juana, so sad I hope Jimmy does ok with his new living arrangements! The weather certainly has been on the disgusting side! I have been trying to sleep off nightshifts in the heat with no aircon! Not fun!! Our house stays reasonably cool, but the bedroom heats up just a little toooooo much at about midday. I hope everyone has a great new years eve. Mine will be fairly quiet and tame, back to work new years day

OSoSwift
Sorry to hear about the loss of your hosr fetchingdogs, I recently had to put my aged Clydesdale mare down so I can fully sympathise. My young 5 year old is lost without her so I am thinking it may be in his best interests to go and live at my frineds where he will have horsey friends and get some work. It breaks my heart, I bred him and have had him since day dot and we love each other, but it is breaking my heart that his is broken. I think horsey friends will help. No human love will ever make up for his lost equine friends I don't think. He has never been alone.
