Yay for the Xolo's  well done

We get heaps of Caranbys, they have rest stops and drink out of the troughs and strip the plastic coating of my cable they also make a mess of the trees, but we love having them. It is a real pleasure seeing large flocks come over every day.

We have just come back from our Dog Club wind up and Lewis got the highest score for Class 2 for the year and got a lovely sash - We are very proud :D

Go Lewis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a look at the link Wazzat. Just had to say your dogs are looking exquisit.

I remember seeing their quarantine photos and to see these ones, they look strong, muscular fit and in the absolute peak of condition. Peak condition is something I really strive for with my own dogs and just love seeing other dogs that way. They are very impressive and turned out impeccably.

Just waded through pages and pages of talk here as I haven't been on for ages. Boy, you guys can talk !!

News from me from last few months is: Young Golden has his NRD title in retrieving. My Golden girl got her Dancing With Dogs Freestyle starters title a week ago to add to her other three titles. Was a bit flat on the night, but maybe that is because she is pregnant !! Hope that is the case, will find out in ten days. Black lab bitch is showing true champion makings in her retrieving, and the yellow lab is still slogging on at over ten years of age and doing well in competition.

Lost our old black Lab. male in July. Was very sad. At the vets for over 3 days, after an emergency run. Eventually found that a tumour had burst on his appendix and he had peritonitis, poor lad. I let him go whilst he was under. To top it off, two weeks later my OH had a stroke and was in hospital for three months. Won't forget this year in a hurry that's for sure.

Ptolomy, I remember Lara years and years ago, when I was doing obedience with Tos. Great to hear she is still going strong.

Mirrawee, I went riding with my daughters last Friday for two hours. (and yes I am a tiny bit sore). Haven't ridden seriously for at least 12 years, and even though I have two horses out in the paddock here, they are 32 and 33 yrs old now and been retired for a very long time. Only thing with riding school horses is their education, or lack of it. When you are used to your own horses responding to aids immediately, it is a pain (literally), to have one that to canter, takes more than the subtle aid I am used to. You will know what I mean !!!

Sorry to hear about your year fetchindawgs 2010 was a mixed year for be too. I had to have my old girl PTS and rehome my Chessie, BUT I also competed at agility nationals, made a ton of new friends and really improved my bond with Toby.

I hope someone at training tonight can have a chat with me and Toby about fronts- they are really pathetic. And I wad doing sone clicker work with it that made it worse because the clicker scared him the first time I clicked it and he wouldn't come near me even after I had put it down.

Hi fetchindawgs :D

Nice to see you about again! What a shocker year you have had, 2011 has to be better! :D

Glad to hear you might have puppies ..... will keep fingers crossed! Hope you will do the obligatory photo post come the time?! :o

My Paddy is now 19 weeks, thinks he is a fish the way he swims, and is a retrieving junkie already, showing some promise ;)

I have just the clicker for you, I got a new one with my Clean Run order and I think its too soft!! It hardly makes a noise, I actually meant to post a thing in training thread about it but I forgot - can a clicker be too soft??

I stopped the clicker after that one click and switched to a marker word but it's ingrained now... silly dog with an awesome memory

I use both with Mason, I use the marker word in class and when he knows something but then I use the clicker to teach new stuff :p

Sorry to hear your news fetchindawg, hopefully 2011 will be a super year for you, and guess what, its only just around the corner!

I had an absolute flat out two nights at the show.

Showed a Dally, Boxer, Lakeland, Toy Poodle and Dobe on Saturday night... also got to take the BIS winning poodle for his open class lap as his handler went home

Last night night wasnt too bad, showed a Dally, Toy Poodle and Great Dane.. my brag is I took my mums 11 month old puppy dane in the ring, and got a 10 point Best of Breed and Puppy in Group.. He had been soooo naughty for my mum the night before she asked me to give him a shot, and he behaved quite well for me, up until going back for his class in show - where he spat the dummy...

I have decided I will enrol Hemi in obedience classes next year when it opens up... I really would like to achieve something with him.

Fetchindawgs, sorry to hear your year wasn't all brilliant. Although it sounds like your crew have given you a lot to be proud of

There is a big fire in Goosberry Hill. I know a couple of DOLers (and my aunty) live up there so sending positive hope these helicopters flying over the roof do the trick vibes.

Also big :p it isn't going to come down the hill and get out property. ;)

Oh, no ;) Apparently there is another big one is Baldivis as well
