RubyStar
Is Grand Champion in obedience new? Yep - so we now aim to have a grand occassionally clever dog More reason now for Scoota and Brookie to aim towards UDX This is new (I think): Fouling: A dog which fouls at any time while it is under the control of the Judge must be penalised. The penalty on each occasion shall be 5% of the total points for the class. The deductions must be recorded as 'penalties for misbehaviour' and deducted from the total score. When Ruby pooed in the ring in CCD she would have only lost 5 pts, not 10 like she did, and still came first ;)
Mason_Gibbs
The new obedience rule effective 1/1/11 are now out. There are not a lot of changes from what I can see. I noticed that there are now only 2 blind retrieves in UDX instead of 3 and no "finish" in the CCD recall. and I have to tell Scoota that his request to be allowed to stand in the box was rejected!!! Lol poor Scoota we will have to tell Mason that sit stays still mean sit ONLY!!
Ptolomy
Do you do UDX with any of your lot at the moment Ptolomy? I did it with Lara, was doing bits with Blaize, but none of the others are smart enough . I have been waiting for the new rules to come out as I didn't want to train something that was no longer applicable. It was the one class that could have done with a complete overhaul, but unfortunately it is not a lot different.

Ptolomy
who fought for the changes and can you have input in any future appeals/changes? Meetings were held to give your input and then each state voted on what they wanted and then the state reps took their requests to the National body where each state voted. Rule reviews only happen every blue moon
