Anyone heading to the All Breeds Show on the 22 May??

Rat

Me and Lincoln SHOULD be there but we might have to leave a little early cause I have to work. I don't know if you know but it starts at 12.30 now. We will also be there the next day for Gundog Club show. ;)

Yes, I noticed all the ads throughout the latest K9 news. Which is why I thought I might head along. Im heading to Perth that weekend anyway, so it would be nice to spend the arvo at the dog show before heading further north to my brothers place.

And I may catch up with people I didnt get to see at the Western Classic! But I WONT be bringing cake :noidea: :noidea:

It is looking more and more like we will be moving down south Rat, but it's not likely to happen for 12 months. We are  over Ferguson Valley!

Ferguson Valley is very beautiful VCBR - not far from where we are!

And I may catch up with people I didnt get to see at the Western Classic! But I WONT be bringing cake :o

Then I won't bother going :mad Actually haven't entered anything coming up  Might do Winter Festival but that isn't until July :mad

If I send you the recipe Mirawee, you can make the cake and bring along! :mad:rofl:

We held onto the papers of our limit registered pup... the dog was to be sterilised before it would have been ready to compete in dog sports (not that they wanted to compete anyway). By holding onto the papers they couldn't "accidently" breed with the dog and show a copy of his paperwork to say the parents were registered. They got the papers and a $300 refund once they sent the sterilisation certificate :noidea: And they certainly didn't have any problems with it as unless you want to breed or are ready to compete the papers don't mean anything anyway.

If the dog is show quality and you may want to try showing ask the breeder if you can transfer her to the Neuter register as well. Not many Clubs run neuter events but they are bringing in a neuter championship title :noidea:

I can see why you would keep the papers until the dog was desexed. But to me the papers are part of the purchase price. Otherwise you are effectively spending X amount of dollars on a dog of unknown parentage, that doesnt technically belong to you.

I would like to know the rules on this actually. Isn't there something in the code of ethics that says all puppies from registered breeders must be registered and buyers supplied with a copy of the pedigree. I recall reading something similar although that might be an exaggeration of a rule. Or is that a rule in another state?

Yes it is covered in the COE & we dont have to hand out the papers at all,all pups must be limited registered or main & the owners must be made fully aware before the sale what the deal is with the papers.

A member shall provide to all recipients of dogs sold or otherwise disposed of by that member, written details of:

2.23.1 The breed characteristics;

2.23.2 Vaccination record and / or requirements;

2.23.3 Responsible dog ownership information; and

2.23.4 All documentation required by the member's Member Body, including a written receipt clearly stating whether the dog was sold with or without a Certificate of Registration (Main or Limited) and any other conditions. For the purposes of this Code "with or without papers" shall mean the Certificate of Registration. 04/08

Remember if people dont join the canine the dog will always remain in the breeders name on the papers because the greater majority never transfer them over

Is that really the case? Sorry, just trying to understand. I didn't join the Canine until Ruby was 2 years old. She was registered in my name by 8/9 weeks of age, and on her registration papers it had a membership number against my name, though I didn't have a membership yet. When I actually registered, this became my number. So the dog can be registered in your name even if you aren't a member yet, and it looks like a membership number is reserved for the owner should they wish to join.

Having the dog registered in your name may not matter to some if they aren't going to join Canine, but to me it would feel wrong having my dog in someone else's name, regardless of me joining Canine or not. I want to know my dogs are mine in every sense, if you know what I mean. Happy to oblige anything in a contract, I like to earn and keep the respect of my breeder/s, but would still like a dog in my name if the breeder is happy for that to happen. I'm lucky that it was never an issue with Ruby, the breeder transferred her over to me automatically, no prodding from me required :noidea: And yes, she is desexed, but wasn't part of any contract.

I am the same, it is my puppy I want the papers in my name. I am happy to abide by any agreement (or I wouldn't have bought the puppy) but my dog, my papers and my name. I am happy to pay all the associated transfer costs and have done so in the past.

All my registered dogs have always been transfered into my name as soon as. A couple have been "chosen" from litter whilst in the conception stages, it was just a matter of who it was going to be.

Yip, Mason is in my name too, I think we did the paperwork on the saturday and by the friday I had the new rego papers for him, it was very quick and painless.

Naughty Jenna! Hey it might be that Chocolate and Raisins are some of the only things she is not allergic to! :) Did she eat much of it?

Beans ended up at the vet last night ;) I couldn't put my finger on it, but something wasn't right, she was cuddly, she was quiet and as time went on she started squealing if Cider went to pull on her or when she tried to lay down or get up.

Couldn't find what the problem was ? gastro from eating the chocolate, less likely a blockage or a pulled muscle somewhere from doing something - little darling wasn't very cooporative for the vet.

Can rule out a blockage so she is on boring food and reduced exercise for a few days and will see what happens.

Ohhh poor Beans. Hope she gets better soon Ptolomy.

I know some posters on here recommend Lectric Soda to have on hand for things like that - it makes the dog throw up whatever stupid thing it has eaten, I've been meaning to buy some since Trixie got into some chocolate eggs at Easter.

Poor Beans!!

Wazzat I wanted to do the walk but Mason has very sore feet and I am not walking him at all at the moment so we wont be going ( whole story under Health and Nutrition - we have a vet app at 16h15 so we will then find out the cause of the sores - I am suspecting its all allergy related though)

Ptolomy sending good vibes your way for Beans . Get well soon Beans poor little mite I bet they hate keeping still! lol

Masons mum I saw the foot thing and was going to comment as my girl has had a few probs with her feet as in hair follicles and ingrowns, I have been bathing in Condys Crytals everyday and seems to be working but I know yours is a diff kettle of fish.

We dont do the walk we just go for the socialisation and breed education to the public bit! My two walk at a cracking pace and get stroppy when we go slow, you know they get so fit and toned when we walk HOW COME I dont ! ??

I am just eager to meet DOLers, I can strike a few off my list now and all have been super to meet, funny when you know a name and then meet the person, its always different! lol

No use to me - my end goal is to buy the same car as yours so they won't fit in mine either :(

They look cool though, which way don't they fit? Does one fit okay?

One fits easy and according to my measurements two should have fit :( . I can fit one of my 36" crates in sideways so will keep doing that.
