Guest Willow
My beautiful Satfford boy, Jarrah had a Grade III Mast Cell Tumour 2 years ago. He had his tail amputated (The tumour was at the base of his tail) and a 6 month course of chemo, and recovered well. Today I had to take him to the vets for an unrelated problem, and in the course of checking him over, the vet discovered that all his lymph nodes are swollen. He doesn't have a temperature, so she said due to his history they had better investigate further, and took an FNA from his submandibular lymph nodes. There is a possibility the cancer has returned. She said Mast Cell cancer normally attacks the liver first, rather than the lymphatic system, but couldn't come up with another reason why all his lymph nodes would be so swollen. Please keep your fingers crossed for him...if it has returned & spread throughout his lymph system, there is probably very little that can be done. I'm not ready for him to go yet.
