Kirislin
I am always going on about wanting to get running shots of whippets. This is what I mean. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpo...mp;postcount=42 Edited to add if any Victorian DOLers want a chance to photograph running dogs you are welcome to come along to the Healesville Greyhound track this Sunday between about 11.30am and 2pm or thereabouts. Kirislin
Awesome photos!!ETA: Do you know what lens was used to take them? Yep, a Nikon 80-200 2.8 which is encouraging because I've just recently bought the Canon 70-200 2.8 in the hope of being able to take pics like this. we're having our next whippet fun day this coming Sunday so I am really hoping I can get some decent photos. I just hope my camera can keep up. No doubt if I get anything half decent I will post here but I'd be hard pressed to match those photos.
PossumCorner
.... This is what I mean. ..... Yes she's so good. Freaked me out for a moment as I thought you meant the other Julie Ward photographer who was murdered in Kenya a couple of years ago. Anyways, this Julie Ward has a great Smugmug site at www.juliewardphotogaphy.com - and I mention this for the bird people - Ripley etc - as she also has some nice macaw etc. shots. Another good whippet-owning pro photographer (also USA) is Julie Poole. Her whippets are Champions plus have all their coursing qualifications. Her website is www.juliepoole.com - the Animoto slideshow there of whippets is nice.

Kirislin
Not quite Annie but I didn't have much chance. I was hoping to be able to devote myself to getting pics but even with the new lure I was stuck with being the main driver. I think as the rest of the committee learn to drive it I will have more chances. Here's a couple of pics, no where near the quality of Julie Wards though. I can only dream of getting shots like that I think.
anniek
oh WOW - I think you did very well, and you should be happy with those shots!
Kirislin
Nah, none of them are really focussed or sharp, and my DOF was too shallow. I needed more time to play around but I was busy driving the damn lure! I'd like another go and next time I wouldn't try to capture a sequence of them running towards me, which is what I was doing yesterday, I think I might just try to focus on one place and start clicking when they hit that spot. I also need to try some side on shots or at least 3/4 angles. I think it's a bit of trial and error, well, I've got the error bit out of the way.
