anniek Posted November 11, 2009 Author Share Posted November 11, 2009 we took a drive a little north to where the fires came though - very earie - felt like it just happened the day before - bark hanging and flapping charred trunks lying everywhere but new growth showing some hope Had a long chat with Ralph, apparently they lost most of their profits due to the fires - well due to the media telling people to stay home. Ralf felt that being in the rainforest they would always be safe. They had so many last minute cancellations, and they refunded money in good faith. The fires were 10km north and 10km SE of the resort. Embers landed on their property, but being green and lush all year round, they did not burn, just fizzled out.
