Alexis
Hi All, I am looking at buying a pair of clippers for my Westie girl but cant decide what brand to go.. i was looking at the Andis AGC2 or the Wahl KM-SS or the Wahl KM2?? And also i was going to go a #10 blade but not really sure? What do other westie owners use to clip their westies?
Clyde
I like the Wahls. I have the double speed but only ever use low, so single speed is fine. I would go no shorter than a 7 on a Westie, you could even do a 5.
GoldiesRgr8Poodles2
the andis agc are heavier and run hotter but they are very nice... I use the wahl km 2 only ever on high speed as I find it gives a smoother finish. All my girls at my shop use the wahl km 2. I had a pair of single speed and just found it was slower going to get a nice finish. The other things about the andis is they are heavier too. ANd my westie clients vary anyhting for a #3 to a #7. The average is a #5. The #10 would be handy to clip the belly/ groin and armpit area though.
Alexis
Hi Thanks guys.. i think i will go with the Wahl KM2.. They seem to come with a great recommendation.. My westie girl is very young at the moment but want to get her used to the noise of it so she doesnt freak when she is a little older and it comes time to clipping her.. Thanks again
becks
I would use a 5f on the body, unless the coat is very thick, then the skin will show through if clipped shorter. A 10 blade is useful for clipping the tips of the ears.
