What Do You Look For

We talk about different food for our dogs so often and people are always saying "my dog does/doesn't do well on X". But how is everybody differentiating what is 'doing well' and what isn't?

Other than stools, coat, skin what do you look for?

I look for firm poos, good coat, good energy levels and how the diet affects the dog's weight.

Right now my dogs are on Artemis Maximal (no grain food) and raw lamb bones (they don't do well on beef or pork).

Muscle tone, clear bright eyes, clean teeth, good breath, good energy levels.

We feed BARF patties alongside chicken necks (BARF for breakfast, necks for dinner) with the odd sardine in olive oil or raw egg complete with crushed shell. He also gets carrot sticks and cucumber (his favourite) as treats.
