Don't take any notice of what size the dog is claimed to be, a man in pain and shock is hardly the best judge. But the owner was found, and I'd say that is where they got the breed identification from.

The dog has a history of fighting/ violence in it's home country. The breed has long been assosiated with dog fighting,drugs,violence, gangs etc in the USA. This has a spillover effect onto the rest of the world. In the USA breed is filled with controversy, dodgy registeries, fake papers, dog fighting, bad breeding practices , puppy farming etc.

This is happening in Australia. Overpopulation, BYBs pumping out litters etc.

Wrestling is ok for the WWE but no way to stop a dog fight. Fortunately (for the dogs) I’ve been on hand to stop 3 dog fights involving fighting breed type dogs, none of which took longer than a 60seconds. Had I not been there, with what the so called experienced dog people were doing it may have never stopped. Unfortunately most of us feel if we wrestle, punch and kick the dog it is in someway going to settle it down.

One more point, it’s a hell of a lot safer for a human to separate fighting bull breeds than to separate most other breeds, and that’s a fact you can’t dispute.
