Sankari
Someone told me to give my dog Arnica. She has DJD of right hip and had partially torn both ACLs. Vet didnt recommend surgery for her. She is on 3 1000mg fish oil capsules daily, Joint guard and has just finished her first course of cartrophen. She is having another course in 6 weeks also. Do I need to get a human or is there a dog one i should get? Not sure i havent heard of it before. I was wondering what it is supposed to do and what help it is to dogs. barkon
LC, I've never heard of giving dogs arnica, but we use arnica in our house all the time for bruises, aches and pains. I have a friend who also gives it to her kids in tablet form, basically for the same reason. Whether it works in dogs... I have no idea. Sorry. Golden Rules
Yes it's fine to give to dogs. I gave it to my boy every time he had surgery (3 times now) and it definitely helps with the pain and bruising - but you need to get it into them as soon as possible after the injury occurs. A week later is too late for it to be effective. Arnica Cream is available from most chemists - for use on unbroken skin, otherwise use the pillules from a Homeopath or your Health Food store. Really great stuff! \
