okay. thanls again for all the advice i am receiving (that looks wrong stupid english rules)

i really am curious and asking for help as i thought others may of expreienced the same or similiar problems and would have advice. rusky in response to feeding i feed him in the caravan makes it easier.

am giving bunbury a call tomorrow and hopefully there is something around. Does a dog have to be fully immunised before you can train or what. perth demanded i had papers to prove immunisation etc is this true??

he has been given too many toys of late so i brought him a ball that food goes in and you adjust the hole to a certain size he had it for under half an hour and had figured out how to open the hole was not happy clever thing.

will always try reward him with different things love, food, toys, walk etc so he doesn't begin to expect the same thing each and every time i give him a command.

i wouldn't chain check him as it bring sback too many painful memories of my other dog, so i purposely brought him actually fiance brought him a collar with studs to make him look tough, doesn't work

smacking with a mobile phone the poor rotti that i believe is very nasty and cruel. i can see how people could say hitting with a hand is also cruel as well.

i wouldn't want to make him associate smacking meaning that is bad as you said tess32 so thinks i better be extremely careful about how i handle situations. i never realised that could happen just thought it was a quick way of adjusting dogs behaviour.

praying he improves shortly as fiance said to me last night he has been thinking long and hard about getting rid of him, yesterday didn't help. he said if he got rid of it he would buy me a pure bred puppy (boxer i would hope but not yet) to replace him. i told him if we did that i would feel like i was one of those ppl who buy a pup for Christmas etc can't train it so it gets dumped i do not and will not do that but he does get final say unfortunately.

please keep your fingers crossed that pup's training will improve dramatically in the next few weeks because the way he is going he doesn't have a forever home (as i see it is called) for very much longer (although i definately want him to stay forever)

Great advice Anne.

Whisper, that is great that you are going to take your dog for help.

A responsible training establishment will usually require that the dog be fully immunised before attending classes.

While the internet is a great tool, it would be irresponsible of any of us to give specific advice on dealing with your dog's aggression, simply because we are unable to observe the way that your dog was acting, and see the visual signals that your dog and the child were giving each other. That's the great thing about visiting a trainer, they can see the behaviour and work with it.

One piece of general advice that I will give you, that nobody else has mentioned is that it can be dangerous to allow your dog to run around with the lead still attached. If the lead gets caught on something, or around the dog's legs, it can suffer an injury. Better to keep hold of the lead until your have the dog's problems sorted out, then after that, remove the lead when the dog is running free.

he is currently in the process of getting immunised as we weren't sure if he had been so to be safe and for my peace of mind we are getting him done. my vet reccomended starting at 6 week vaccinations so he is only on to his booster. so i guess i would have ot wait to enroll him for a few more weeks. start in the new year i guess.

being small isn't always that bad though i guess except nods in agreement he can pull very hard getting him to the point on short leash rule hand centimetres away form collar to get him walking ot heel. getting there slowly. i weigh only about 13kg more than my dog highly annoying tee hee hee no wonder they think i am underweight lol.

yeah i don't want to get rid of him as i don't believe that is the right thing to do i think that is the easier way out and i like to be difficult to. fiance got him for me so i don't want to give him the option of getting rid of him.

after his vaccinations are up to date we are looking at enrolling him for socialisations purposes also and because i think he may a bit bored new scenery may do him some good.

thankfully i convinced other half to give hima second third and fourth chance so fingers crossed.

Hi Whisper.

Your pup couldn't have a better owner even if you're not an expert.

You have done some serious thinking, and now you can look at your problem from a number of different perspectives.

Whenever you decide; today, tomorrow, a year from now; it is your decision and I am sure you will do whatever you think is the best thing for your dog. Including PTS if it comes to that, and I hope it doesn't.

Been there, doing that. You have so much to think about and talk about, with a qualitied obedience trainer.

Before anything I would be out buying a enclosed pen, with a run. Then you'll feel more confident he can't get out.

Secondly find a HIGHLY reccomended trainer. I've been through three, even been asked not to return to one class. Finely found an angel, and I thank him every week. My bitch will never be the same, but she will be handlable. I'm luckly have the room to keep her and know her limits. You have to find all this out, and work constantly on it.

But, Whisper if it Doesn't work you can at least say you tried.

Well done , whisper..you must've had a shock with what happened..but now you're getting the knowledge to put you in control! Good!!

be very careful with muzzles..do not leave on your pup unless you are with him..muzzles can get hooked on things, dogs can get frightened....

If you buy/make an enclosure for him...it must have a floor..mesh or concrete, and should be weldmesh or similar that cannot be bent/broken/chewed!The roof & walls should be secure as well. If the dog is in there for hours,it needs to be large enough for the dog to run around ,and should have shade & a view of the house or whatever.A dog kept in an area where he has vision restricted will possibly be more unhappy than if he can see what's happening

It IS difficult for us to give you accurate advice without seeing the dog , where he lives, and how you interact with him, which is why a trainer/behaviourist can be of much more assistance.

regarding ringing and training all will have finished now in general classes till February.

I would suggest when you speak to Bunbury that you tell them the serious problems you are having and the urgency required to ensure your pup is not PTS.

They will probably suggest someone to help you. This will be a private arrangement.

I am going to make some enquiries on your behalf for a suitable person in the Bussleton area.

I can't promise anything but will try. There are some people who do private stuff and rather than individually take a few handlers and their dogs to keep costs down.

I have no idea who there might be in your area.
