Winterpaws
Just after some thoughts and this one warrants a vet visit so I will be on to that in the morning but appreciate any thoughts in the meantime Pepe (fox x chi we think) has been holding his back leg up since we got home tonight. He will put it down for periods but seems to limp for a bit and the starts holding it in the air again. Apparent from the leg in the air, there are no obvious signs of discomfort I know it all sounds rather vague but does anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on or any similar experiences? stormie
My guess would be either the patella or the cruciate... how old is Pepe, WP?
Winterpaws
Age unknown Stormie as he was a HP rescue Best guess would be ~5 - 7yrs I guess Anything I should be doing between now and the vet visit? Should I restrict his movement? He loves sleeping up on his bed on the lounge but thinking jumping up and down is not a good thing for him! Definitely restrict his movement if you can. You will probably find your vet will put him on crate rest anyway.
Her Majesty Dogmad
Cruciate ligament or knee prob, either way, he needs to be having a forced rest before the vet has a look. I didn't do that with one of mine and it was disastrous.

Yeh I have stopped him from jumping up and down since we noticed it when we got home tonight. I'm going to try find some sort of ramp so he can still get up and down Poor little bugger - he's a crazy active little man so being crated will do his head in
