Tay.
I'm changing my dogs diet from supermarket canned/dry food brands to an all dry food (biscuit) diet (a good brand). But there are so many brands around I have no idea where to start. Or what brand suits the needs of my dogs. Jess is a young (24 months) active border collie and Bailey is a young (3 y.o) lazy, golden retriever, and I need to keep an eye on his weight. What brands are of good quality and what ones are not? Which brand(s) would you recommend? Thanks

Parkeyre
I use Purino Pro Plan. I have energetic breeds like yours, ones that are both energetic and lazy. One is known to put on weight, but i'm not having any troubles with purina. My guys dont JUST have dry though. They get roo meat, eggs and vegies often. Sandra777
I don't use dry food that much, but I would suspect you need to be looking at two different brands or two different formulas for two such different dogs. Not much in life is one size fits all Try brands that offer sample packs, a money back guarantee or small (affordable) bags and see what works. Record the label details and your dogs' reactions - if they have a problem with some specific ingredient you'll see a pattern emerging.
poodle proud
Mine are on eagle pack Holistic for small and medium breed dogs. I'm not sure if I will stick to this or go back to the EPH duck formula as my dogs did really well on this. But they also get raw meaty bones, egg, chicken and rice, sardines and yoghurt. My vet advised against all dry food for my guys because their tummies are a bit touchy. There are lots of posts about dry food on here and many say the ingredients and the order in which they appear on the bag give you a good idea of the quality of the food. Ive looked at others but havent been as happy with what I have seen in the ingredient lis compared to EPH.
