later when things are a bit more under control with the nipping get your son to feed and make sure she sits for the meal and respects the foodhandler by waiting for the ok cue

we make ours sit or even lie down for their food and we handle their food while theyre waiting

i initially do all the training but when the dogs are obeying me i let the kids do it too

every member of the family has to be able to control the dogs

also walking the dog at heel is good for the dog to learn respect and order

once the pup is obeyingsimple commands train your son to walk and give cues to sit and wait at curbs and not to pull

some dogs are dominant and grow up treating the kids as littermates...they bite and growl and the kids have to learn to be the dominant ones or this will continue

train your son to walk in the room and totally ignore her til she is calm and settled

Welcome to the wonderful world of owning a Staffy! Or at least a similar world to my experience anyway! :)

Firstly they do grow out of it!

Actually, if you don't train bite inhibition and deter mouthing, they won't. Some dog owners learn that lesson the hard way. :)

They sure do learn the hard way!

Kaos loves to play and will 'bite' but once she actually has your hand in her mouth, she gives you this look that says "WTF? now what do i do with it? " and lets go :)

I have had people amazed when she does it to them and have them tell me their dog would never let go if it did get your hand! :p

I am the first to admit kaos needs A LOT of traing, but she has never had the chance to bite or nip a person!.
