Kingbob
So last night for dinner i got some Nandos portuguese chicken, great stuff! My dog (a beagle cross) got a few scraps of chicken of course, couldnt resist his big brown eyes! Anyway I left the box with remains on the coffee table when i went to bed, Fred (the dog) has his bed next to mine and he snored away merrily all night. This morning he got put out the back as usual, and i went to work. Got home a little while ago and went to clear the table, and noticed the box was gone, found it in his bed in the lounge, licked clean and empty of any chicken bones! He must have gotten up during the night and raided the box and polished off all the bones and other remnants! He's eating his dinner now, doesnt seem any the worse for wear, appetite just as normal. I'll monitor his droppings for the next few days for any traces of blood, but is there anything in particular i should look out for? I should know better by now not to leave anything within sniffing distance of a beagles nose!
Cavalier
Watch out for vomitting, signs of abdominal pain (hunched apperance, flinching when touching his belly), constipation and blood in stools. Dogs very commonly become constipated after eating cooked bones, and the bones can also become stuck. Hopefully he will be just fine!!
sas
Just have to watch him and remember in the future to not leave food out, most of us have done something similar one time or another. Hopefully all should be ok.
