Love it Ripley.

Huga the lumix takes some great shots.

It's a good little camera. It has a Leica lens, which is apparently very good. The TZ7 has a wide angle lens, so that should be handy for this month.

I can vouch for the panas also before I got my Nikon, I had a pana fz 20 then upgraded to the pana fz50 the Leica lens are awesome!!

Hey Everyone - the first post in this thread has been updated with some waaaaaaaay better and more detailed information, kindly given to me by renowned landscape photographer, Tom Putt.

Please head over and have a read as it might give you some more ideas on how to go about shooting a landscape.

That article is fantastic, Ash! So many things to think about!! Make sure you send him our thanks!

Awesome challenge and great contribution - thanks for lining it up, Ashanali!!

TerraN - yes, you can shoot landscapes with any lens really. I shot one the other week with my 85 that I really like and had never considered using the 85 for something like that before. Maybe part of the challenge for some will be shooting landscapes with different lenses than we might first consider as landscape lenses :(

And whoever asked about shooting the ocean as a landscape, I'd say that's perfectly great!

Can't wait to see more this month - the ones so far are excellent!! Nicely done

No idea. All I know is that it was south of Adelaide.

Alex says that Maslins Beach sounds about right... :(

I was thinking either Maslins or silversands beach...possibly Aldinga

Hi guys, Im just home from a landscape shoot :( sounds real pro eh!! I havent had a look at my pics yet, will post later if any are half decent. i can see im gonna have to pop i here quite a bit with the way this thread is moving along!!

It has really given me something to think about and look at the scenery differently while I have my camera as I am usually shooting close up and animals (dogs)are my thing.

TN, I love the Train track shot, and your sunset shots are great.

Ash, i think your landscape shots are great I love the fiji ones!!

Ashli, Interesting shots, I just love the softness of the black and white one especailly!

Ravyk, Nice beach shot, I do love landscape shots with people in them it adds to the character of the shot, Cool that the bird is in the shot too!

Bec. I agree so many said they were no good at landscapes and all the pics have so far been fab!!

Love your shots.

Will check mine and post some after.

Here are 3 fairly recent landscapes I am kind of happy with.

This scene just caught my eye, I love the colours & reflections. As I was getting my camera out, the 2 cormorants landed. LOL, it was like Christmas, I remember being SO excited.

I like this one b/c I remember thinking to get down really low for a different perspective. I think it works although can now see ways to improve it.

and this one I took just last week in the paddock opposite my house. I got excited by the light & the rainbow and it was one of those, quick grab the camera moments. The background is kind of boring, but luckily the horses obliged by becoming a subject. Getting down low for this one would have been great but there was a fence in the way & I don't know the horses well enough yet to know if they would have appreciated me laying in their paddock :( .
