WildatHeart
OH just rang to say he found a tick on one of my horse's chin. He said it was very small and white. I asked him to keep for when i get home to see what it was. Too late he had already squished it. Do paralysis ticks go for horses? Does it sound like paralysis tick? If so I’m worried. We are in an area that is cattle tick free (well supposed to be) and also paralysis tick free also. For the last eight months I haven’t needed to use any flea or tick treatment. I’m in SE QLD south of Toowoomba.

Gallomph
I'm in your area, and as far as I know the paralysis ticks have not quite got here yet. My vets reckon they are being seen infrequently in the Toowoomba area and are moving SW but have yet to be found any further than Pittsworth. There are plenty of other types of ticks in this area though - bush ticks, roo ticks etc. Is your OH sure it was a tick? - because they're not usually white. Maybe a louse???
