Today, the 1st of December 2004, would of been Abby's 3rd birthday. So in honour of a wonderful dog who taught me so much and who I will never forget I wrote a poem

If you were here today

You would be three

Running around playing

Young and carefree

If you were here today

I’d pick you up and give you cuddles

Lay down with you and pat you

As you gave me snuggles.

But you are not here today

Nor will you be here tomorrow

And when I think of that

It fills my heart with sorrow.

You got sick

And had to leave

‘Back home you must come’ God said

‘Come with me now, please’

And off you went

To The Rainbow Bridge

To frolic and play

And have fun with others gone before you

But if you were here now

You would be three

So I have this too say:

Happy Birthday to you,

My sweet angel, Abby.

Run free until we meet again.......
