Malinworx
Just wondering if anyone can comment on dog training courses they have done to become a trainer and which ones they recommend. Is the NDTF course worth doing. Many Thanks.
missmoo
I did the NDTF course and highly recommend it. You get a lot of information of different techniques from a lot of different lecturers ans instructors.
Guest Willow
I did the Delta course and enjoyed it .....the yeargroup I was in are the last group to do the course in that particular format, the format has been changed now, so I can't comment on how enjoyable the present course is, but I like & agree with the Delta philosophy, which won't have changed even if the curriculum has. It depends on your training philosophy as to which course will suit you better. Delta focuses on Positive Reinforcement & Negative punishment NDTF teaches all four quadrants of operant condiitoning. Erny
It depends on your training philosophy as to which course will suit you better.Delta focuses on Positive Reinforcement & Negative punishment NDTF teaches all four quadrants of operant condiitoning. That's a very fair and impartially narrated comparison, Willow. The other thing is that unless you understand and experience all four quadrants ("understanding & experience" being the key and operative words) then it is pretty difficult to make a decision on "preferred training philosophy". Completely agree with Erny I think it is important to understand how all the quandrants work, even if later you decide not to use some of them. At least then you will be informed in their use and know why you have decided to use/not use them.
