mrs tornsocks
Just got lamb flaps for the first time for puppy (at least I'm hoping that's what they are, labelled lamb breast) Do you feed them one at a time ? They seem really large, it's heaps but not sure if it's good for one meal or more ? Pup is 15 wko lab, weighs 12kgs and is fed 3x per day. jillybean
I usually get the butcher to cut them into smaller pieces because although you can do it yourself at home it can be a little difficult to get through with a knife. I wouldn't feed an entire lamb flap. Perhaps one third? Not sure how big the one you have is!
puggy_puggy
If you have a sharp knife you should be able to cut through the bone quite easily. The pugs will get a lamb flap each one a week as their food for the day.
Kirislin
Just start him off with one or two ribs that you've cut free of the rest, trim that thick fat off as best you can too and if there's any solid lumps of fat on the inside ribcage throw them away. Bones are fatty enough without all that as well.
mrs tornsocks
Thank you ! Oops - I guess he got an extra big helping of dinner last night - but funnily I did not hear him complain. I will cut it up in future. I'd say it was probably 35cm (when you opened it out) by 15cm.
