Joint Guard

Just wondering about the dose timings. Assumed that the dog just gets one dose a day (amount as per weight guide) then read the packet and saw that its suppose to be given in morning and at night.

Now since the dog only gets moist food at night (her actual big meal for the day) how are you suppose to feed it in the morning? Is it imperitave to feed it twice a day or can it be used once a day?

Whoops - I've been using it for a few years now and only giving it once a day. If you wanted to do it twice a day just mix the powder in with some warm water and pour over the dry food - if the dog doesn't like the taste (and so laps up the liquid that didn't soak in) then add a little gravy powder or similar for flavour.

Thanks for all the advice - she only gets a biscuit for fetching the paper in the morning then a food ball so feeding once a day at night is far easier.

Its a lot of powder at once to mix into the food but so far she's hoovered the lot. I guess for a dog not so keen twice a day may be easier for some but definately prefer just giving it to her once a day.

you can also get Joint Guard "liver treats" and they are only very slightly more expensive than the powder. These work well for our dog who is a very fussy eater and won't eat the powder mixed with water... and yoghurt seemed to give her an upset stomach at least once a week. With these liver treats you could just use them as the morning reward for getting the paper.
