Lamb Breast Is It Ok?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I give my cavaliers the lamb breast from woolies, they love it

It was long so I cut it into thirds......me thinks he would have been happy to have it all

It did remove it once hed got all the meat off and there were just the little bare ribs left....maybe I should have left him to chew on them. I have to say though Great value as a treat. $2 very well spent!! kept him entertained for ages....he got it back to bone before I posted and now hes tuckered out

Cheers

I feed mine the boneless lamb strips all the time, I tried the ones with bones but they were too sharp and I didn't feel comfortable letting them have them. If I want them to have bones I give them chicken necks instead the bones are much softer.

Raw meaty bones are exactly what dogs need! . Just keep an eye on him to make sure that he chews the bone properly, some dogs (like my own Sarge) can try to chomp and swallow big chunks. Most lamb bones are great, except for the weight bearing bones, they are very hard and dogs have been known to break or chip teeth on them. Lamb necks are great, soft enough to chew through and no sharp edges, and great teeth cleaners

are lamb too rich for a pup? i'm interested in feeding it lamb but i had people tell me they are too rich

No. It's usually too much excess fat around the meat that causes the problem. I always trim the fat off.

Yeah I trimmed the visible fat too  He's 4.5 months and the only issue I had was when he was finished. He wanted more and was tired from his workout :(
