Hunterhound
that reminds me I have to get out the catalogue and check times and judging schedules. What time are those going to maitland going?I also need to get em out and enter those I havent yet! I havent been well this week and struggled a bit at training last night and swimming carnival this morning. So am sitting in bed watching tv and ordering dog products LOL Sent hubby out to get national dog and he came home empty handed Nice to meet you the other evening...sorry that you weren't feeling too great!! Regarding Maitland, I didn't realise it was an Ag show..I was going to take Maja along but if the parking is appauling (have to park 2 klms away & pay an entry fee) & the rides are going to be making a hell of a racket, then I might reconsider & go and have a look at Erskine Park the next day! Yep I think your on the money with that idea especially if shes only starting to get used to things, I think it might be too much for her! Come along to medowie next weekend thou Kite would love to meet a bloodhound...she will be baffled at first then will be up for a good play and she is a great play mate not too pushy and a total softy! Yes, I will certainly come along to Medowie...where is it actually held (sorry, never been there!) Just so you know, my cute baby bloodhound weighs about 24.5kgs & is 19 weeks old...I wouldn't be worried about the other dogs needing to be soft with her as she loves to launch herself at my other two hounds at home...rather confident, boisterous young lassie!! Yeah count me in for another person who didn't realise Maitland show was The Maitland Show ... I'm not going to bring Archie into the showgrounds at 13 weeks - but he should be coming to Medowie the following weekend Kite will love Maja I'm sure .... Morty thought she was divine! Archie is quite the cutie..I'm glad others will come along to Medowie. What day is everyone going..... Saturday or Sunday?

I'll definitely be there Saturday (not sure if I'll have a min pin entry yet or not ) and hopefully Sunday - although I might have a Greyhound get-together in Newcastle that day (to pick up our new foster grey!) so I'll have to wait and see. I don't think I'll take any dogs to Maitland as I think it will be too much for my baby Dragon too! Min pin is too gross and maremma too big, so I think I'll just bring the kids. We could bring Vivi to say hi, I guess. Are you allowed to walk around the showground with the dogs, since there is a dog show on? I can't WAIT to get into a ring again! I'm trying to get Chester fit for the shows in March & April so he has been included in my morning 4k walks - he doesn't even break into a pant. I was quite a sight this morning with 2 min pins, one Aussie and a greyhound all on lead! It's all okay until one of them decides to go to the toilet! angelsophie
heya poocow shame youre not coming. You show your rats? My daughter was showing her pedigreed guinea pigs but they closed the local branch of the cavy club meaning we would have to travel to sydney for her to show. It makes it a HUGE day for a six yr old. But she did do well when she did it and finished titling a boy she was entrusted. So if toby titles he wont be the first aus ch in this house LOL and yes Miss six reminds me of that ALL the time speaking of miss 6 she wants to play with mr archie again! He is still not looking his best, but we need to get out so there is no backing out on the shows. He is starting to get callouses on his elbows too, no matter how much bedding he has around he chooses the concrete...i've found a list of some things people put on them so as soon as I have time i'm going to try something. He is just too much of a big boofhead to be pretty How did I not know you had a Greyhound ??! (or maybe I just forgot ) Will I ever get to meet them??! ...Probably not lol...But I want some photos!?? I hope Leo copes ok, he will probably embarass me putting on the tough dog act and barking at everyone, not that he'd ever try anything, they'd clap their hands and he'd be off! ...Oh, apparently pencils are REALLY scary. I was re writing some tafe notes the other night, and he sat next to me and growled at it...I tried to let him sniff it, to let him know it's ok and he cowered away.... What on earth am I going to do with this poor boy?!!! Also wondering if we are allowed to walk around the show grounds with dogs? I was hoping to take Leo on the dodgem cars. LOL. We'll be at Medowie all day sat. Peopl need to come and be our friends! I can make my way to the toy ring, but I wouldn't be able to pick anyone else out in a crowd Lol. HH Maja sounds like she is about the same growth rate as my fatty..But sounds a lot more adventurous! Edited February 18, 2010 by Jessm
The Ark
Leo is so lovely and funny!! I've never heard him bark - is that a new thing? Yes Jess, we have a greyhound named Colour (because she's not grey!). We've had her since last winter, and she is awesome. She has learnt to sit, and we are working on drop. She is very good at "lay still on floor for hours at a time" already! On the Sunday of the Medowie weekend we are probably picking up a foster greyhound for her to play with until it gets a new forever home. I'm not sure whether it will be a boy or girl yet - a surprise. I went to an old guy's place to buy some steel posts today and he said he had greyhounds so I got to go and meet them. They are such beautiful dogs - all wriggly and kissy through the doors of their pens. I just love them! I might bring Colour to say hello at one of the shows. I've been planning to, but always seem to have too many others with me.

Jessm
He has done the barking at the groundskeeper a few times at training..But yeh, he is getting a little to fond of it as of late. He doesn't even know what he is barking at half of the time, I think he just wants everybody to think he is tough. I love the idea of the name! That's sweet! I think Greys are beautiful (on my "to own" list which is quiet long lol). I met a fair few at the expo, and fell in love. Oh wait, I do remember you telling me now because we talked about the greys at the expo sorry. Well you must bring her out some time!

HH Maja sounds like she is about the same growth rate as my fatty..But sounds a lot more adventurous! yes...my little Miss Maja is quite the confident type...tail up and jumping on tables & sticky beaking at everything. I will need to put some solid handling in to her before our first show in March...she is still very strong on the lead. Unfortunately it is all due to the age she came across from Sweden plus the time spent in quarantine. She is rather smart ,so I'm sure I will have her remotely under control by show time...albeit she will be wriggly and probably want to 'slime' the judge
