FionaC
well its a good thing Archie is cute .... that's all I can say . ... . ...... ....... .. actually to be honest I think he did ok, for a dog (and handler) that's never done anything like this before we didn't completely make fools of ourselves I don't think did get to meet the lovely Toby and Maja (beautiful beautiful dogs!) an their equally lovely owners .... thanks guys for making us feel really welcome tonight - I really appreciated it(thanks for the loan of your daughter Bec for some puppy love/socialisation too - much appreciated) ..... need to bring a proper collar and lead though (turning up with a flat collar and a standard lead wasn't a good idea - but I'm expecting a lovely new lead to arrive in the coming days so that will be coming along next time I promise) ..... P.S if I thought I could have gotten away with stealing Maja I would have - I have never met a bloodhound before and she is just amazing .... such a beautiful natured girl (patient with a 12 week old GSP trying to jump all over her) just stunning! and Toby's the cutest little man I've ever met - his fur is so soft and crinkly .... it was my first Havanese and Bloodhound meeting moment tonight  It should be there if u are in the express area.. i posted it monday woo hooo I'll try to get off work early tomorrow and check out the PO Box ..... Archie's getting a bling lead dooo daaaa doooo daaaa Archie's getting a bling lead - oh dooo daaa day! Bec - Toby was free stacking like he was born to do it! he looked brilliant
Jessm
 Whats perfect? I dont think Kite will ever know what perfect is good love her little cotton socks You can put Leo on your list too Ash And I am jealous of you getting all those cuddles Bec! Leo probably would have been scared of Maja at first, but he is getting really adventerous lately, they would probably have a ball together! Which show will I get to meet all these new puppies at??! Argh, there is a Bully specialtey coming up, but I think I am way too afraid to enter Leo and go against all the pros Do you think it would be rude of me to ask his breeder if I entered him would she like to handle him?? She did at the last one, we keep in pretty regular contact, and she doesn't have any other dogs to enter atm...maybe she won't even go...I think I might ask anyway

GoldenWei
I'm in two minds about tonight, should I bring Phoenix to training or Willow and just hold her??? What to do. I'm leaning towards bringing Willow. She is due for her 12wk vac next Wednesday, which I assume is still a bit early to bring her for actual training on the Wed night. Do you have to pay if you just bring them and watch?
FranVT
Guys which of these forms do I use to enter a show? I'm just not seeing the right one! http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/Shows-/-Trials-Forms.aspx

But personally I'd be more inclined to bring Pheonix and learn how to handle as that can be transferred over to Willow. I would wait to bring Willow until she's fully vac'd. I'm just not seeing the right one! http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/Shows-/-Trials-Forms.aspx Not familiar with QLD but in NSW we have to buy a booklet of forms or use the template/program online (not affiliated with Dogs NSW). Those forms are for booking shows etc
FranVT
I wondered what I was doing wrong! That's cool I'm going to join showmanager.com.au and use their forms but I can't print a form until I have my membership number.. it's okay because that should be this afternoon. Sending by express to Mackay tomorrow for a Friday close date, but the show contact said they are usually pretty flexible by a few days.

Yes, I was thinking that learning with Phoenix will transfer to Willow, the reason why I was thinking of bringing Willow is because there will be lots of dogs there, she hasn't really been in that situation. I opted not to do a puppy pre-school. I didn't want her to be overwhelmed on her first week with both lots of dogs around, and learning everything else. If she isn't overwhelmed I think she'll want to play with all the dogs.
Jessm
Just dropping by to make an "I'm so stupid, again" comment...Seem to be doing a lot of these lately I must be the only one stupid enough to not realise that the Maitland show, is actually at the "Maitland Show" Now i'm scared. So I need more help, do we just park where general people etc park? And the rings will be set up where they normally have the horse show/bike show/where the stands are? I'm freaking out, like it's my first show again Not to mention, the last years show was a particularly bad experience, my cousins partner was killed there
poocow
Yeah I just wouldn't want to take the risk when a pup isn't fully vaccinated.

I made the mistake of taking Lincoln to show class before he was properly prepared and he freaked out from all the noise/dogs/being in the weired acoustics of the undercover area. So now I am slowly building up to take him again. I think taking Willow before she is actually expected to do anything, other then be there is a good idea. Dont panic its not like were are actually part of the show, well thats if its like last year, we were stuck up in the back corner! Just drive to one of the entries and there will be people on the gates and they will tell you where to go!
