Miss B
I'm expecting my first, second and probably even 10th time in the ring to be something similar She should be here end of next week... her name will be Willow I think. Yeah it took me quite a few shows to really get into it How exciting, and what a gorgeous name. I hope you are planning on sharing lots of pics with us

Asalei
I'll come out of the woodwork. I've bought my first show dog which I've had on trial for a week to see how my girls got along with her. They are really good with the new puppy, it's just my lack of sleep that's hurting! Baldev Blonde Bombshell "Abby" Her first show will be the beagle club open show on 20th February. It's four weeks away and I'm already shitting myself!

Miss B
Congrats Erin! Good luck with your bubbas first show Kyza's first show was also a speciality, but not a breed specialty (it was the Asian Breeds Club of QLD - unfortunately we do not have Jap Spitz specialties!!). He was a naughty little turd
Asalei
It's the open show, I thought that would be best for me to start at! Then progress up from there. They will all be 14 weeks by then. She'll have two of her litter sisters in the ring with her, but one's a lemon and one's a tri. Is there a need to go to show training if the breeder is helping with training in stacking? We practice every day with standing and stacking. She's very good on a material collar and lead and I'll be grabbing a show chain and lead next weekend when we go to Durack. Anyone in QLD know when the show training is on at Durack? I've got 2 months to get some confidence up, the NSW beagle specialties are in April and we'll be driving down to take photos and enter little Abby. You'll probably all think I'm crazy, but it's been a huge emotional battle for me to decide to get another one. Hubby isn't too convinced, but hopefully she'll turn into a wonderful girl who will do some winning occasionally. We'll just have to see how she grows. Your hubby will soon realise you made a good choice I dont think theres a need to go to training if the breeder is going to help you alot. I get alot of help from kites breeder but I just enjoy show training good for socialising, for both me and the doggies!

Personally I think it's a great idea They do lots of exercises which are useful for both handler and puppy, I'm going to start going with my boys again soon so if you do decide to head along there will be at least one friendly face there It's held on Thursday nights from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, no need to pre-book, just rock up with your $3 and join the class. GoldenWei
Congrats Erin, she is just gorgeous. I love the tan and whites ;) We were looking at a beagle at one stage, but decided we should stick with gundogs rather than go totally different and get a hound. The Ark
Hi Erin, She is beautiful!! And stacks so well! Sammy is right - sometimes show training is good for socialisation and practice in a ring, even if you are getting plenty of help from your breeder (lucky you!). Good luck with her! Deb ;)
poocow
I go to show training for the socialisation for Moo and to perfect little things I do in the ring. I hope your still not having that internal battle - shes fitted in well and things will only get better as she settles into your routine! You know I think shes gorgeous ;) I can't wait to meet her when you come down at Easter!

Asalei
Yeah sorry, how old do puppies have to be to go to show training. I gather it would be 12 weeks.
Gemelo
Congratulations Erin! She is beautiful! We have only done two weekends worth of showing so still extra new as well.. I didn't take Peach to show training until she had her second vaccination, just in case! Anyone up for some Newcastle training in the next couple of weeks? I know some of you are doing Morisset next Saturday, then both Sammy B and I are heading up to Armidale for the shows on the 5th 6th and 7th.. would love to meet up to have some more practice with others.. Hillsborough may not be the best idea for a meet up spot though, unless someone can contact the caretaker
poocow
Are you showing next Sat? I'll be up there with Miss Morgan :D Little Moo has cracked 150 points now
The Ark
Yay Morgan!! Now come on that birthday!! Hi Dotty - I'm not sure I'll be able to get to much show training from here on (although I'd love to, and need it) as it's a bit busy once the kids are back at school because it is a bit of a drive for us. :D I can probably only do a bit here and there within school hours.
