I should have checked the forum before bed and then I would have known that not only were they taling about me, but they were yelling at me too Hope you feel better Sammy. Will be a big weekend down in Sydney and the last thing you need ontop of the weather is to be feeling off colour. Not sure Im game enough yet either need to get her a show lead, have a snake chain on the way to borrow while she is small from a lovely DOLer! Dotty, don't be silly! Aussie puppies are too cute not to enter in shows when they first turn 12 months! It is just 2 shows and they are always fun show, although usually hot, there are lots of nice shady trees around the Working Dog ring at Morisset (if they don't change the rings). Good luck! Completely agree! I have been showing for too many years, from as soon as I could get in the ring until now, and still my baby puppies always manage to do something naughty in the ring! It is the one way you can make sure you always have a dog that loves the show ring. Make it fun! ETA: I will be there Dotty, more than happy to lend a helping hand! We are a pretty friendly bunch! ;) At least come for Sunday. I was terrified (still am) for my first show, but it's not that bad. As Ashley said - just make it fun for your puppy. I think that's the biggest thing I've learnt at show training - and sometimes the hardest thing to remember. I am really trying with the babies I have at the moment! angelsophie Posted November 18, 2009 Author Share Posted November 18, 2009 last show sammy, deb (the ark) and myself were all next to each other so you'll have your choice and are more than welcome if you can tollerate the superbrat and skin kids although they may not be there on saturday Toby is still naughty in the ring but he enjoys it not sure about others but I put way to much pressure on me and him - now we enjoy the ride and whatever shame we bring on each other. I figure I want my happy boy who'll steal any lap at a show, who has as much fun playing with a min pin baby as a huge bullmastiff at the end of the day - not a robot. I have learnt to laugh at his misbehaviour and its all that much more fun! I have had many judges comment on his happy temperament and only 2 on his naughtiness (only walking he tables and stacks faily ok most of the time). Toby has only stopped licking the judges to death one steward did comment the judge wouldnt need a bath ;) SO have you filled in you entries? Nevafollo Posted November 18, 2009 Share Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah like AS and Deb said, plenty of room around the toy ring with us until you get a gazebo of ya own! plenty of playful puppies for her to socialise wither also which is important! we are always there early as kite is still doing sweepies! you should definately enter sweepies aussies babies always seem to do well! Especially if the judge is into fluffies! Also Im sure because your on very close to first in your group any one of us would be happy to walk up with you and guide you thru it to help kill the nerves abit!
