kristina_m
Hello! I am getting a labrador puppy in 4 weeks and would like some recommendations for the best vets around the west side of melbourne (preferably around werribee area), but I am willing to travel. Also, if anyone knows of vets which do the 10 week vaccination? Thank you

Been going there for years and years and have never had a problem!
TangerineDream
Preston Vet Clinic in Bell Street - Robin is great and Tango loves going to visit him - he's a very thoughtful vet who really loves his patients and makes you feel good about being a pet owner - but never makes you feel like a dill! kristina_m
Thank you for the recommendations I will definitley add them to my list of vets to investigate. A bit off topic, but I am planning to use Advantix and Sentinel Spectrum on my puppy when it is required. From what I have read that combination should help protect it from worms and fleas etc. apart from mites. Is it an overkill?
KnuckleBuster
Hi Kristina, We see Jeremy at Brimbank Vet Clinic (562 Melton Hwy, Sydenham. 9449 1100. www.brimbankvet.com.au). I know a bit of a drive,,, but definitely worth it. The entire team at the clinic make you feel like part of the family, put up with the 'over-protective, paranoid 'mum' dropping her babies off for surgery, treat you with respect, do not 'push' anything on you, and make house calls should you need them. Can't recommend Jeremy and his team enough.
SmoothieGirl
Hobsons Bay Vet Clinic. Lovely nurses and vets, very pragmatic and kind too. They do the 10 week vacc.

The others are a bit of overkill unless you plan on going into a tick area frequently.
Bouledogue Français
Another one for Wyndham Vet Clinic on Market Road, if I am not in the mood to travel to my vet in Rowville. For all general stuff I see Ross, he is great.

kiwikitten
Thank you guys - lots of very helpful recommendations! Getting my puppy this Saturday so very excited and can't wait If you want to save some money on simple things like vaccinations and desexing, then go to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital in Nth Melbourne. Half the price of normal vets. However, they charge full price if you get anything else done (like dental or grooming).
whippets
I use Wyndham for desexing. They are very nice there and the vet is good. If you are willing to travel to the greyhound track in Lara, Michael Bell will do vaccinations on Sundays (between 7.30 - 10.30am). We use Michael for everything else dog wise but you'll have to put up with his sick jokes.
Sankari
We go to Lort Smith. Their fees are lower than other vet clinics even for surgery it is much lower.
