nillasdad
Does anyone if these are covered with RSPCA insurance? The better half and I are having an argument on whether or not we're covered. Policy states it doesn't cover skin conditions. I don't think a sarcoma is a skin condition per se... Our girl Vanilla just had one of these removed (margins where clear so they managed to get it all) and is currently on the long road of recovery. thanks seagate Edited July 7, 2009 by seagate
Leema
I don't know, but in my small amount of research most of the insurance policies are way overpriced. I rather put a few dollars away myself rather than do insurance... I have savings anyway, so I'm not too worried. I know some people have difficulty saving, though, so it may be a good solution for them. I don't know if sarcomas are covered or not, sorry. Which was your may question! Erny
I would think Sarcoma should be covered and would (dare to) assume that by "skin conditions" they mean things such as allergy reactions. Go ahead and claim. You'll find out then whether they'll honor the claim or not. Good luck. I would like to think the chances of a favourable outcome from your insurance should be high. And I hope your girl recovers well and that her ongoing treatment keeps and sees her in good health. Edited July 7, 2009 by Erny

That's how I interpret it as well. And I hope your girl recovers well and that her ongoing treatment keeps and sees her in good health. Thanks Erny, suffice to say, she'll get everything she needs to recover completely. Luckily, she won't need radiation as they got it all out, but it's a huge open wound. nillasdad
Good news, Vanilla's soft tissue sarcoma was fully covered, we received the refund for it today! The girl is recovering nicely, healing up rather quickly from what was a rather large open wound (I opted out of a third operation where they wanted to do skin crafts to cover the wound). Saved a fortune by doing 90% of the bandaging ourself bar the check up appointments. So, good outcome all round, give her a couple of weeks and she'll be back to normal. PS: Erny, you met Vanilla at the workshop you did with Steve in Melbourne...
perrin
Great to hear that Vanilla was covered Seagate. I don't know what Vanillas wound looks like now but Manuka Honey is fantastic as a healing agent. It is something i use on my horses all the time when they have a wound. Just put it on and bandage. Erny
PS: Erny, you met Vanilla at the workshop you did with Steve in Melbourne... Ooh ooh .... yes! I do believe I remember her . Why isn't her picture up on my website?? Was she camera shy? Naah .... it was probably because my camera wasn't taking great shots inside the building :p. Glad your insurance company honoured your claims Seagate. That's at least a big help .
