I don't know what you are complaining about, we all have to pay it. Most weekends I would contribute around $16 per show in levy and still pay entries on top of that.

So you are entering 8 individual dogs in each show and will keep doing so so will pay exactly the same levy as you do now? This will have no impact at all on showing and only on the performance people.

In my sport if I normally entered 8 dogs I would be paying the same as I do now, but if I entered 4 dogs in 2 events each I would be paying double and people like Vickie could be paying 8 times as much for 2 dog.

It will also make it far harder for the clubs running trials to not run at a loss. Entries will have to go up as the clubs couldn't afford to cover the costs of the increased levy. This would mean that some people would cut down on the number of entries so in effect they would have less money coming in to cover costs.

 it was the same for conformation clubs and exhibitors when the levy was introduced. Clubs either had to suck it up or pass on the $1 to each dog entered.

If anything, the sporting competitors got a free ride out of this, given they could run one dog multiple times for their $1, where as conformation exhibitors had to wear the $1 for every dog they entered and only got one bang for their buck.

Dogs NSW Members:

Does your Articles of Association, Rules and Regulations allow you the opportunity to raise questions/agenda items at Annual and/or Special General Meetings and if it does, does it allow the members to vote on these agenda items. If so there may be an opportunity to overturn the decision/s of your Board of Directors.

In Victoria, the members have the ability to raise agenda items at AGM's/SGM's and have the ability to vote on these items; as an ordinary resolution the Management Committee only have to take the advice and not necessarily act upon the decision; whereas a Special Resolution the Management Committee are compelled to accept the decision.

How much time do you actually spend in the ring for your $8 at a conformation show PPS?

I just looked at my qualifying cards from the last couple of weekends.

31 seconds, 31 seconds, 38 seconds, 31 seconds, 23 seconds, 33 seconds, etc.

So I paid $48 for 3 minutes & 11 seconds in the ring. Not a whole lot of bang for your buck is it & hardly a free ride  . Lucky I love it so much.

Thank you Wayrod. Yes we do have this opportunity & it will be done at the next AGM. The decision has already been overturned once in 2007. It is just a shame that this motion happened to be passed at the one meeting where the agility rep could not attend. A coincidence, surely.
