puggy_puggy
It all depends on what food you are feeding. And even then you adjust any diet you are feeding to suit your dog. If it is looking to skinny you feed a bit more if it is looking to fat you feed less.

poodlefan
Male, female, activity level, fat content of food all affect weight. Go by feel and don't worry about other people's dogs. Most Aussie dogs are carrying too much weight anyway. By the way, his breed is Staffordshire Bull Terrier - no such breed as an English Staffy. Tiggy
I feed my Staffords a raw diet. 2-3% of their bodyweight daily, so about 400-600g daily.
Staffyluv
yeah i no just wasnt sure what people related to them on here asis there any staffy owners that could tell me wat they feed the dog? Ollie is fed human grade meat and veg. He also had cottage cheese with some flax seed oil and yoghurt from time to time as well. He loves fruit in summer time and often has some of my apple and watermelon - we are yet to see any strawberries off our bushes because he gets to them before we do. Meat: Chicken, turkey and beef with a bit of kidney sometimes (not often). He used to have roo too but with his medical history that is a bit strong for his tummy now Veg: sweet potato, pumpkin, zucchini, carrots etc... He gets about 350g a day but needs this cut back because he is old and not as active now and putting on more weight If you decide to change your staffords diet, do so gradually so it does not upset his tummy - they are sensitive little souls lol.... BTW, if you have a staffordshire bull terrier, it is compulsory to post pics ;)
Remblak
Hi Josh, We have 4 of these gorgeous guys. Ours are generally fed a slice of toast and a small amount of dry food in the mornings. They have a decent meal at night generally consisting of 1 to 1.5 cups dry food (we use Bonnie and Advance) plus 1 sardine in oil as well as 3-4 chicken necks or as an alternative each will have 200 - 250grams of high grade mince plus any left overs. Our guys are walked every night for 3kms and all look in super shape, by the sounds it seems like you are feeding yours fine. Always nice to know what others feed tho ;)
Teebs
My Kaos gets 2 cups of Active Nutrience dry food and fresh meat, she also gets bones most days, but has a bad tooth so has been off them for a little while, till it comes out later in the week! Sandra777
yeah i no what your saying puggy puggy but i wanted to just feed him the same all the time instead of it being so up and down. It doesn't matter what sort of food you feed - you are going to have to adjust the amount according to weather and activity (and, ultimately, age) so just let your hands and eyes be your guide and get to know your dog. No different to feeding yourself - some days you do more so want/need more, if you spend the day lying on the couch you want/need less. People tend to eat more in winter to keep warm and dogs are no different. I feed raw food, whole pieces not minced and at the moment some dry food because we don't have a large freezer right now. With one dog, frankly I would be feeding him table scraps (no cooked bones EVER), some mince, the occasional egg, the odd tin of sardines and either whole chicken carcases or some decent dry food. Variety works and is much appreciated! The only thing would be if your dog has allergy issues you have to be more careful, if he doesn't then he can eat virtually anything you'd feel comfortable feeding a two or three year old child (so no spicy food, curries, salty stuff)
