Bailey had her first Puppy School class today and it went very well!!

At first she was terrifyed and by far the smallest dog there, There was a 14 week old German Shepard, 12 week old kelpie x staffy, 13 week old great dane, 12 week old chock lab. 16 week old wei. 12 week old Sib Huski and 2 16 week old Jack russle x foxy.

And then there was the tiny little heart stealing 8 week old Bailey the beagle HAHAHA!!! She just ran after scents the first 15-20 minutes and ran away when ever any of the other dogs sniffed her. But i held her and introduced her to the dogs and she soon got very confident! Ran around with them all. Tackling the Jack russles and getting in the middle of the Dane, Kelpie, German Shepards and huskis wrestling. Playing about and man shes cheeky!!! Chasing dogs around that are 5 times her size!!! I took a video of them playing but its to big of a file to upload. I have one pic of her and the Huski playing. I will upload it!

She is learning her commands nicely. She Comes, Sits, Lies down, Stays (mostly) and plays fetch (Working on "Drop" any sugestions?)

Keeping in mind the husky was the 3rd smallest there. So the Dane and Wei were easly twice the size of the Huski.

My 13 weeks old GSD had his first puppy pre-school class today ... and he was extremely vocal.

There was 6 puppies in his class - 2 ridgebacks, 1 lab, 1 JRT and one small white fluffy thing that was just so tiny.

He was a bit over excited by all the puppies and their owners (there was 14 people there) - he thought they should all be giving him attention and was being vocal so he could remind them he was there. Unfortunately he was too over stimulated to actually learn anything but we had been practicing at home so he knows his sit, come, drop, and toileting. He also knows to wait when I put his bowl down for his food command ... as long as I don't wait too long. We are still working on leave ... but that seems to go out the window when he finds a shoe that interests him. Puppy class is more about socialistion and neutralisation.

Glad your puppy class went well

Awww, glad to hear it went well! The pic of Bailey with the husky pup is very cute

I teach the 'give' command when I play tug of war with the pup/dog. I move the toy around and let the pup capture it, then tug with her for a few seconds. Then I pull the toy toward me and hold it still so it goes "dead". I calmly and slowly say 'give' while holding the toy still, most pups will release it when it goes still. Once they release it I reward by making the toy come alive again and moving it around so the pup can grab it again, as well as praising the pup for giving.

Ok will give that a shot! I have been doing something similar, But will try it your way. I just play fetch with her and when she brings it back i just hold it "dead" and say drop. Untill she drops it.
