cowanbree
I have just purchased a young dog and he has quite stained whites. I have bathed him several times but they are still quite yellow looking. Can anyone recommend something to help with this? I was wondering about using Sards wonder soap?
Tansy
I have just purchased a young dog and he has quite stained whites. I have bathed him several times but they are still quite yellow looking. Can anyone recommend something to help with this? I was wondering about using Sards wonder soap? I am having some sucess with Sard's wonder soap on a dog with stained whites (30 days in quarantine will do that!). I have used it before on another dog, and it did nothing for him, but does seem to be helping this boy. I often find that what works on one doesn't work on another. I also shampoo, then shampoo again with a 'purple' shampoo, then the regular shampoo again. I'm making inroads, but the staining doesn't go away overnight. I'll be interested in what other people have to say.

Parkeyre
Cowanbree; COoper is a red merle aussie and when he stains I wash him with Petway Supergroom Pink Shampoo. It really gets him clean, it smells good and it's not oily

When she is really bad, as in haven't shown for a while and been out herding as well, I use sard wonder soap followed by Champion Tails Stain Remover then a purple shampoo. If she is not really really bad I just use the Champion Tails.
tunagirll
Get thee hence to a horse saddlery shop and buy a bottle of Glo White shampoo. This is the best shampoo for any colour and does a fab job (and not too expensive). I use Champion Tails for the horses but only for manes and tails, Glo White does everything else! dancinbcs
plush puppy whitening shampoo is quite good.eta - rub the shampoo into the whites - leave on for a few minutes, then rinse off. I have never had much success with the Plush Puppy whitening for removing stains but their Deep Cleansing shampoo is brilliant. Once you get them clean with the Deep Cleansing you can use the Whitening one for follow up baths and just use the Deep Cleansing for every 4th ot 5th bath. The other thing to keep in mind with an Aussie is that some will have naturally "white" markings but others will be more of a "cream" colour. This happens with BCs as well and nothing will make a dog with cream marking truly white. I find that my intensely black dogs have the whitest whites but the dogs that are a faded or reddish black and many of the coloured BCs tend to have the duller more creamy whites. The intensity of the colour seems to affect both the body colour and the whites.
Rysup
I use a combination of Sards Wonder Soap, #1 All Systems Whitening & Brightening, and Bluo. Shampoo with All Systems. Then give extra attention to whites with the Sards. Final rinse with Bluo. Brings the whites up dazzling.
