Cazstaff
I have a litter of 7 pups, 7 weeks old and 1 doesn't have canine teeth..... is this a problem? She has all the other teeth expected for her age. The other pups have had them for 2-3 weeks now.
Stitch
Could be missing dentitian or just slow. Is there a history of bad mouths in your lines? What are the parents/grandparents mouths like? Is there a space for the canines in the mouth? If they are definitely missing, it is possible for them to errupt as permanent teeth but it wouldn't be a puppy I would want to keep to breed from incase it is a dentitian problem which would then be passed on to its prodgeny. Cazstaff
Hi Stitch, Thankyou for your reply I was hoping just slow but its weeks now since all the others have had theirs come through. As for history I have nothing, I don't even know what breeds are in these pups. Mum is a rescue I am fostering. I got her 5 days before these pups were born. I don't even know what breeds are in them, only thing Im sure of is that at least one of the dads was much bigger than mum as the pups look too big for their tiny mum! lol Kiko is almost half her mums weight at 7 weeks old. This is mum & pups @ 6 weeks There is a space for them but I cant see or feel even the beginning of a tooth pushing through. This is the pup.. Maisie. Damn she's cute Im guessing its not all that common going by the amount of reply's. There will be no breeding for these little guys, all will be desexed before they leave so that side of things isnt a concern Caz.. Stitch
Sorry, thought they were purebreds. Good that you have been there for the mum who looks rather overwhelmed with all those chubby babies. Very pretty puppy - you won't find it hard to get a home for her!!
puggy_puggy
How many incissors does the pup have? Is there a space for the canine? Could you be mistaking the missing canines as incissors? If you were really worried you could get it looked into when the pups are desexed.
