woody2shoes
Hi all, I walk our 5 dogs in the dark during winter. I have a couple of flashing clip-on dangly lights which I've been using on my 2 black labs because they're the hardest to see. The lights been reasonably effective but the batteries don't last long. I've also found that unless the dogs face me, I can't see the light - not much good if they happen to be high-tailing it away from me after a rabbit!!! In any case, I recently lost one of the lights so I really could do with some ideas on a more efficient and cost effective way of illuminating my dogs' collars. Does anyone have any ideas please? I'd like to know what everyone uses, where I can potentially get hold of them and how much they cost. Thanks in advance. w2s

poodlefan
Nite Ize LED dog collars look good. You can get them from a range of places. I've been thinking about getting some myself.
OSoSwift
This is a blinky thing to attatch to the collar, but it says visibility up to half a mile? Not very expensive either. Not sure how it would go if the doggy did tails up and off though Ooops forgot to add the linky! http://www.pets-megastore.com.au/product_i...roducts_id=1038 Edited June 17, 2009 by rommimum
becks
A friend bought some flashing arm bands that were on sale at Aldi last winter, she uses these on the dogs (2 joined together for a retriever size dog) and they lasted all winter for morning and night time walks. missmoo
Hi, You can also buy reflective leg bands for dogs. Works the same way as the reflective silver stripes on safety vests. The other alternative is a doggy fluoro safety vest. cheers, Missmoo
lovemesideways
http://www.polybrite.com/Pets/collars.html These are awesome. I ordered mine from America though, not sure if you could get them here?
woody2shoes
Thanks heaps everyone! Some great ideas there and I've had a close look at them all...there seem to be no end of alternatives these days. Now all I have to do is decide which way to go. Thanks again. w2s
