mrs tornsocks
Hi everyone We are the proud owners of a 10wk old lab who's due for his second vacc this week. I have asked around a little bit but haven't got a strong reccomendation - does anyone know a good vet in western sydney ? We live in Blacktown, would be more than happy to travel within the western sydney / hills district region if it meant finding the right vet. Please feel free to PM me if appropriate. thanks alot. rijbiz
Hi, hope you are enjoying your new puppy I always used to use Rob Zamit at Vineyard Vets, Windsor Road, Vineyard who I found great, but I believe there is a really good vets at Quakers Hill. Not sure of their name but I'm sure some other DOLer will know.

~Anne~
One of the members of this forum is a Vet at the Gt Western Highway clinic at Wenty/Pendle Hill.... and I think she's pretty damn good. I live in the next suburb to you and I travel to West Ryde Vets and actually pass about 4 Vets on the way! They are very supportive of my rescue though. Hill - he just did one vacc though, we lost our boy way too early so it was hard to tell from just that one visit. The only thing with Q Hill was that you couldn't seem to make an appt so could not always get Matt.

Both the vets at Vineyard and Quakers Hill are used by a lot of show people/breeders. I chose Rob Zamit because he was reasonably close to me (I was over near Wisemans Ferry) and I knew he did hip/elbow xrays, had delivered litters of Ridgeback puppies and was familiar with the breed. The same applies to Quakers Hill. They specialise if you like. However, if you are looking for a good family vet who will cherish your dog, give annual vaccinations and cope with any emergency there are probably a lot of good vets in your area. Maybe ask friends/neighbors who have dogs who they use.
mrs tornsocks
Thanks so much everyone !! We have a friend that's just back from o/s and swears by someone locally - we want someone who'll love our boy (perhaps not quite as much as us ) but will do the 'everyday' stuff with a smile and care for the pup/dog. I think on Wed and Thurs mornings but if you call they will tell you what days he is on and which mornings are appointment only.
