Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what i could give my guys to help with the dry skin. It has only occured to the change of weather and cold conditions.

They get sardine in oil every night with there dinner, kelp and apple cider vinegar. The 2 young ones Tonka (2 & a half) and Cassie ( 5 years) are fed on Eagle Pack Power and the old girl Kirra ( nealry 9) is on Science Diet sensitive skin.

Thanks for any help

The general guideline (for dogs) is 1 fish oil capsule (1000mg) / 5kg

I would start adding just 1-2 for the 15kg one and 2-4 for the 23kg one and see how you go

It could be the dry food.

Do they get bones?

How often do you bath and what with?

There is an EPO shampoo by Groomers Choice that is my favourite shampoo.

They have been on the dry food for about 2 yrs and havent had a prob. This is probly the coldest its been here. They get bones maybe 1 a week. I havent bathed them for 2 weeks and i use FIDOS soap free either the flea one or the normal shampoo. I use that because it doesnt give them flakey skin.

Can I just add when giving fish oil, from Vets advice, it should have the 3 AND 6 omega's.

There's loads of fish oil's out there, but they don't all contain the omega 6, which is also very important.

That's right, that's why I also add EPO :p

As advised, fish oil (with Omega 6 as above) and evening primrose oil will assist. The latest cold weather brings with it very, very dry air. I suffer from dry eye and this week has been really hard on my eyes purely due to this abnormally dry air.
