Katdogs
Stevie's got a long scratch/scrape on her nose. Not deep, no blood, but it's been showing a big pink stripe on what should be a black shiny nose for a week now. No swelling or discharge, but no granulation. Is there anything I should do? I don't want a scar if possible, she's a big black dog so scary enough. However if I put anything on the scratch (will try for photos) I assume she or her carer Jodie will lick it off? Any suggestions please?
rijbiz
Try Paw Paw ointment, cheap and easy to get. Another good one is Vitamin E creme or you can get it in oil form from the chemist.
Golden Rules
I'd leave it alone. It will heal itself in time and the pink should return to the black.
luvsdogs
Many yrs ago now April was scratched on the nose my a mother cat. It left her with a sore nose with loss of pigment. I was worried about it at the time because it took a long time to get back to normal. But it did colour up again & you'd never know there had been anything wrong.
