skwo2
I gave Chelsea the Spectrum Interceptor tonight, and she had a vomit about 3 hours afterwards. She vomitted out her dinner, and I saw some brownish thing in there, believe to be the heartworm tablet. How long does it take for a heartworm tablet to start taking effect on the body? Do I need to feed her another heartworm tablet? I am not too keen to overdose her, as she is currently having liver problem. I crush the tablet and mix in the food to feed her. Erny
I'm presuming you are in a heartworm area and therefore have a dire need to give her heartworm prevention? I don't really know the answer to your dilemma, particularly considering the liver issue. I presume you've spoken to your Vet about any affect by the heartworm preventative (even under normal dosage) on a liver that is problematic? pipsqueak
Erny - yes, unfortunately Sydney is a known heartworm area. I would be speaking to my vet for advice.
rugerfly
I'd not give another, and change brands. I also wouldnt crush it, some tablets loose their effectiveness if not digested slowly. Open her mouth and put it at the back of her throat.
