kyliegirl
that is bad luck. do you think it is the right time for a puppy or maybe wait for another 6 months?such a hard decision i wouldn't want to be you now is possibly the best time to ever get a puppy, with the limited work hours i have, i have alot more time to train the puppy and dedicated to giving him all the attention he needs at that age. I will still put as much love and devotion into him as I would if he was indoors!
persephone
You live in Brissie- which doesn't get really cold- maybe you could shift some of your activities outside under a covered in verandah or something? I know puppies are different- but I have lived in two rentals with dogs allowed laundry only... we all did well and- your pup will probably benefit in one way- he will learn to entertain himself without risk to your furniture/electricals, etc!! When you get your own place- he will have basic training under his belt, and should then be more of a pleasure to have indoors
Animal House
Make sure it is written into your lease you are allowed to have a dog. Personally, I would wait 6 months, but that is me.

Puppy2009
.... I rent & ALWAYS had my dog inside despite the NO ANIMALS inside condition. I guess I knew my dog, who we had for 11 years.. Next week, our pup (ACD) arrives & I will creat her in our room at night, and have set up a play pen on the tiled area. I will NOT be telling my RE that I have the dog inside. I am a very responsible and clean family & I do not anticipate any long term probs. .... although, the house owners (who are from out of town) are visiting the week after the pup comes.. and I am a little nervous, and will make sure all the pup stuff is outside. lol I have allot of respect for the house owners, (nil for the real estate we rent though) but am 100% confident my family will always leave the property in BETTER condition than when we first tenant it. Perhaps they would even agree to our gal coming inside but I'm not going to take the risk. Good luck with your new pup, she will adapt to what ever set up you choose, and these dol people will have a HEAP of unreal tips & advice for you.. ~SL~
I dont have much in the way of constructive advice for you Kylie, except good luck with all the training and if your breeder is willing to be helpfull and give you suggestions then they are confident he will be fine in the laundry. Cant wait to see some photos when he arrives!
