dogone
Hi, I am just wondering if acorns are poisonous to dogs? Thanks in advance
sandgrubber
Acorns may be mildly poisonous, but, having grown up in an area of California where they are all over the place, they're not a worry. They taste horrid to dogs and dogs do not eat them. The Native Americans leach out the poisons with boiling water and eat the rest.
Skye2
I have a book put out by dept of primary industries about poisonous plants for horses and they are ranked very dangerous. I believe they are bitter in taste and most horses and most likely dogs won't eat them.
Poodle wrangler
My 24kg dog decided to try some, but I'm not sure he ate any/ much. I just found the shells in a mess and broken open- no obvious problems and that was 5 days ago.
