roses2905
Hello all. This is my first post here at DOL, so let me know if I do anything wrong. We have 2 malamutes, a female who is 1 yr old, and a male pup who will be 15 weeks on Monday. We want to take the one yr old to basic obedience classes, she knows basic commands, but is horrible at walking on the lead, she used to be quite good but has gone backwards. She also gets a bit skittish around new people, so I really want to work on that, and last week she got bitten on the face by a dog who was jumping over its fence as my OH walked her past, so far she hasnt behaved differently towards any of the dogs we already know, but I dont know if it will affect any meetings with new dogs, if that makes sense. She has her C3 vacc, and we are in Salisbury Downs in Adelaide. I kinda want somewhere who will be kind to a complete novice! If we can get her better with the obedience I would be interested to see how she would go with agility, she is always running around in laps, doing figure eights around the furniture and the backyard, so I think she might enjoy it. Thanks!

The closes club to you would be Para Distrcts Obedience Dog Club. They train on Sunday mornings for Obedience and Friday evening for Agility. They also offer Fyball, not sure of the night for that. They are at the bottom of Saints Rd, I can't think of the exact road name ut if you turn off of Main North Rd onto Saints Rd, it takes a 90 degree bend to the left about 1km along but there is a small access type road that goes straight ahead - they are down there (it is a "right" turn due to the way the road goes and I think has a turning slip lane. I think there is a sign there pointing to the off lead dog park)
roses2905
Thanks Piper. We went there this morning! I googled and para popped up. So we will be going there in two weeks time, next week is the million paws walk so no training. Our pup will be 4 months old then, so he will be able to start with the puppy classes on the same day. Kaisha was very good today, she was very interested in everything but behaved well. Cheers!
