Princess Poodle
We made it, Denzel and I went to Obedience Training, and I didn't trip over him or anything!!! He was quite good. The instructor took a shine to him before the class, so he used him as the example, which meant he got twice as much training as anyone else , he fell asleep on the way home, big night . All went well, I hope we can keep it up and I don't make him look bad.

LOL, I agree, nothing more funny than watching a frantic owner trying to catch their dog who is running around the class doing "zoomies".

I think I was just resigned to it.. zoomies seem to be a Whippet standard.

We have a greyhound at our obedience club. She's a sweet dog & in the beginning was a little timid & reluctant to do many of the exercises. Forget trying to get her to drop, sit was a real effort. She's starting to come out of her shell & will even go through an agility tunnel. One afternoon a couple of months ago she was let off lead to do some of the equipment & decided to go for an extended run. She had a ball doing laps around the field. And as you say, the frantic owner & her elderly mother were trying to get her back.
Princess Poodle
OMG, now I am worried...please don't let this happen  . He is usually good, but it would be my luck that he would be too excited to remember to come back.

LMAO, dont worry, if he gets loose and forgets his recall, the trainer and spectators will help you nab him. We had a hypo GR run riot around the class on monday nite, too funny!!! If that happens & he won't come back the best thing to do is run in the opposite direction or fall on the ground in a heap. He's sure to come back to you to see what's wrong. Princess Poodle
Good news...Training on Monday was elevation night, and Denzel was the only one in the class to elevate . Some were asked to come back on Friday to try again, and some were asked to do another month, so I was getting worried, but we got through. Now for Level Two! Wish us luck. I am always wary of that advice, after a friend was told to do just that with her BC. Said BC looked around, couldn't find owner, paniced and took off. Went missing for an hour or so in the suburbs and the grounds only streets from a very busy major road. It was a very very anxious time for everyone there and involved in her search. I think you need to make sure the dog sees you fall down.
