puggy_puggy
He touched the side of her gum where I hadn't noticed bleeding and blood started oozing out.. it looked really weird!! She's never bled from her teeth/gums before so this is all new. Something not right is going on there. Do you think I should call my previous vet in case he could offer me advice? hehe he'd probably charge me for a phone consult or something. Most vets are more thne happy to have a chat over the phone to people about dogs they have seen when they have a bit of spare time. Give him a call and explain the symptoms and the tests being done etc. I was going to say that the teeth look worn but I think because of gum inflamation they look smaller (are covered by the gum) Edited May 5, 2009 by puggy_puggy

SwaY
It's just the front ones they look worn down. Is the wood she chews on treated by any chance?
:ange:
The wood she chews is just from trees.. so definately not treated. Her kennel is made of wood but when I bought that I specifically asked if the wood was treated because she chews on wood and it's not either. I think it's just gum inflammation as well.. I will post some after pics later when the swelling has gone down so you can tell me if her teeth are worn down too.. thanks for the input will post something more when I hear from the vet this arvo. persephone
No chance she could have ingested some blood thinning agents??? Poor thing.
Miranda
No chance she could have ingested some blood thinning agents??? Actually that's what I was thinking persephone. Could she be getting access to mouse or rat bait because the effects are cumulative and will cause bleeding if she's been eating small amounts over a period of time. Faolmor
Just a way out there thought, Ange...but didn't Ruby recently have KC? Maybe a belated reaction to medication?? Or a hyper-immune response?? Immune issues can sometimes cause bleeding gums. ETA: Bad breath is also a sign of kidney issues, which you said she had in the past. Not trying to freak you out - just suggesting something else to consider. Edited May 5, 2009 by Faolmor
