albie
I might be getting a golden retriever puppy soon and was wandering at what age I should start training him/her some basic commands? And also whats the average price for an eight week old pup from breeders, most breeder sites don't state the price.

You can start training as soon as you get the pup Price depends on the breeders, quality of parents etc. Why don't you contact some reputable breeders with your query? luvsdogs
A good breeder will have already started training their pups with basic commands such as sit, drop, stay, come. Have no idea about price. Keeping up with socialisation when you get a pup is the most important thing you can do. Also follow up with puppy preschool & obedience club. TerraNik
Start training the day you get them home. This might not necessarily mean sit/drop/stand etc (you certainly can if you want to though) but treat the puppy as you would want your future adult dog to be treated. So if you don't want them to be on the couch, don't sit on the couch with the dog in your lap for the first couple of weeks - set the boundaries straight away.
