I don't know how well those vibration or high pitched noise collars work - but I'd be mighty annoyed at the waste of money if it didn't. Maybe some other DOLers will come along that have had success with these.

I just went straight to a zappy one - fixed the problem humanely and fast. I got the YS300 , it isn't the cheapest available, but I think it was money very well spent... it is well made and doesn't pick up the barking from my other dog either. It says it is for smaller breeds, but works fine on my GSP on the lowest level.

innotek static collars are the only one I will bother with. Their low level stim is not very much (yes i have tried it on myself) and they gradually increase the stim ONLY if the dog keeps barking. Very effective collars and well worth the money.

As for if they hurt - well my Malinois barked through one on the highest level. Didnt flinch a muscle and yes it was working at the time. They are not that bad but at least you know they will definately work.

I want to train my goldie not to bark. She has recently started barking a lot. Are these legal in NSW?

K9: The Innotek BC200 is an automatic collar that detects barking & adjusts the correction level based on the dogs barking & raises the correction level when the dog doesn't stop barking.

The idea isn't bad but the same collar also has written into the software that it will stop correcting the dog under certain circumstances & I have found those circumstances appeared to often to promote those collars.

The BC200's predecessor the BC100 was a manual set bark collar much like the YS300 we have & it was a better unit IMO but both BC100 & BC200 reliability hasnt been great. They no longer sell the BC100 anyway.

We have under test a new Model from Tri Tronics that so far is going very well. have more testing to do though but at the moment the YS300 from Dogtra is the best on the market.

This is just an oppinion not a judgement, honest, I hate antibark collars & yes I have a barking dog, I found a delta society trainer & she's helped me a lot, it's still a work in progress but we're getting there. Rainy I love your Koolie, I'm a Koolie person, he looks like a real sweety, sorry if I sounded like I was having a shot at you in my last comment I wasn't.

I use the BC-200 dog collar, I preferred the older model that had a middle plastic prong on it but this new one only has 2.

I have found that you have to have the collar snug on the dog to make sure it doesnt spin on the neck as it wont pick up the vibrations and you cannot leave them on 24/7

http://innotek.com.au/products/bark-control/bc-200 - it comes with a recharger too no replacing batteries!

for the pet dog I find these affordable and they really work. You can eventually wean the dog off after a while by leaving the collar with a drained battery then eventually moving it down. Remember you have to provide your dog with stress relievers, activities and toys when you have the collar on or it builds frustration because all that old anxiety doesnt have a release now.

Just to give an update on my goldie's barking problem. I took her for a long walk yesterday in the morning (earlier we used to take them for walks/play in the evenings only since we leave for work early in the morning. It was enough in summer since they got about 2 hours of walk/play in the evenings). Checked with our neighbours in the evening if she barked. We were delighted to hear that she didn't bark at all. Now we have decided to take our dogs for a walk in the mornings as well (even though it means getting up at 5.00 am :( ). Hope this resolves her barking problem since it only started with the winter time changes.
