Dog Training - Southern Adelaide

Recommended Posts

Hi

Im looking for a good obedience club around the Flagstaff Hill area. We are looking for obedience and then hopefully agility training. At this stage were not interested in competing or anything serious, just a bit of bonding time and fun along with the training so i dont want to put him into a club that will push for him to compete or do anything he doesn't really want to do.

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Thanks

Southern Districts is a traditional obedience club (and its my opinion these clubs are very much geared towards competition obedience) whereas the other two recommendations are more pet focused (and proper positive/reward based).

Dover Kennel and Obedience Club at Mitchell Park is actually closest to you. I am a member there and like it. Nice positive training. I havent felt at all pressured to do competitive things there.

Holdfast is great but expensive.

Dover has a yearly fee and no weekly class fees.

Training Wed night and Sunday morning.

Not that far - it is just off of Marion road - between Sturt Road and Oaklands.

I'll be entered in the Dover Obedience trial if thats the one your thinking of entering. Just the "old" girl - the baby isnt ready yet.

See you there, I'm entering Izzi & Pebbles in the CCD, Pebbles will fail because of her non/stand for exam. but the more we do the better we'll get :p . I'm getting very, dog stuff, busy, we're doing our first herding trial on the 2nd & I've seen other obedience trial we might enter.

I might be going... either this one or the one at the GSD club on the saturday... depends which day my mum is working. It will be our first trial now that we've got all our dogs sa stuff organised haha! Jess will probably fail to cos of her stand for exam too! Which she was great at before the christmas holidays! Now she moves at least 2 feet! Any one going to the Norlunga trial in June??

Probably going to Noarlunga - I am usually at all the trials just about :p .The SFE is one reason why my youngster isn't going to be entered. She doesn't have one yet its still a work in progress - just not sitting very high on the priority list.

I'm looking at doing both the GSDCSA and DGK&OC trials. Not keen on doing 2 days in a row, but they are both my side of town.

Pele almost had another Novice leg at Para on Saturday but the little skunk blew the recall - she never does that :)
