Spaying Bitch - Recovery Time - Resuming Normal Activities - Dog Pool

My nearly 13 month old BC was spayed last Tuesday and is recovering fine and is back to her usual feral self and me battling to keep her quiet (starting to ease up on that as of today) but I didn't ask the vet nurse when she was discharged what is the soonest I can take her swimming again. She said not to bath her for 10 days so does that mean after 10 days she should be fine to go back to the dog pool. She has dissolvable sutures so doesn't have to go back to have anything removed and I was told it could take up to 6 weeks for them to fully dissolve.

I usually take my older girl to the pool once a week and my youngster tags along as well.

Anybody know - I can always ring the clinic later today but thought I would ask on here in case somebody knows.

When Jedi got desexed (yes, he's a boy, but he had an abdominal testicle, so similar wounds to Kenzie would have), the vet said I could take him to the beach the day he got his stitches out. He had removable stitches that were taken out on day 10... For dissolvable, I would assume that the wound would be healed by then and then it's just a matter of the stitches dissolving.

I was told the same thing as Terranik.

Zero had had one of his testicles kicked back up inside of him by his (very abusive) former owners so had a 7cm incision in his abdomen on top of the usual neuter incision. He was able to go into the water on the day he had his stitches out. His was longer than 10 days because of some problems he had with the incision "leaking" (he had what looked like very dilute blood coming out of it for a day when he popped one of the stitches) but I let him play in his paddling pool on the day they came out (about 15 days after desexing).

I'd assume that if the incision is closed, then you shouldn't have a problem.
