Ons
A male golden retreiver desexed may be an ideal companion, mine gets along well with the cats now he knows what they are, not sure about birds but a puppy could be trained. He loves his walks but doesn't mind if he misses a day, he loves being outside or inside and is very gentle with children. As for a cavalier, I was going to suggest them as well but some have high bird prey, mine certainly did and my mum's cavaliers have just been visiting and went nuts over my cats. Mind you a puppy trained may be different. PPS's suggestion was great, go to a show, have a look around, talk to breeders and take it from there
puggy_puggy
Come and meet us at the triple show at Scotts College on the 8/9/10 May. There will be three days of all breeds to look at. Great idea for someone who really has no idea of what breed to get.
